For our seasonal residents and Summer vacationers here are just a few tips:
The hot summer sun can evaporate your pool water up to a 1/4″ a day. Low water level is not good for your pump and can cause it to lose prime and run dry. This can lead to pump failure and in some cases complete motor failure which can be costly.
If you don’t have an auto fill on your pool, you will need a water timer. Water timers can be purchased from your local Home Depot or Lowes.
Pools that do not have water timers will need to have the water level monitored by your home watch company. (Weekly is most desirable.)
VIP Pool Care will turn on water timers to fill pools during the summer time, however we do not turn your water off and are not responsible for the proper operation of water timers. For this reason annual replacement is strongly encouraged. Your service day is indicated on your invoice or you can contact our office, if you need to convey the schedule for your home watch company to ensure your water is shut off after pool service.
Water timers that malfunction, or garden hoses that break/leak, can be costly on your water bill. Ensuring the proper care and maintenance of your pool and equipment is important to us, but we are not liable for excessive water bills.
If you do not have a home watch professional, we may be able to refer you to several reputable companies in your area.
